Input Translator

Input Translator creates and edits .ipt profiles used by GPC 3. The editor saves changes to the selected profile automatically; users do not need to edit the file format.

Create or Open

  • New: name and create a .ipt profile.
  • Open: select an existing .ipt profile.
  • The working directory is used as the starting location when available.

Select the same profile in a GPC 3 slot to use it.

Mappings

Choose a source device on the Input panel and a destination on Output, then click one control on each diagram to create a mapping. Alternatively, click Add in the Mappings list and choose the devices and controls under Mapping Input and Mapping Output. Use Show Mapped to highlight assigned controls and Remove to delete the selected mapping.

A mapping can include:

  • scale and offset;
  • input inversion;
  • source deadzone;
  • source consumption so the original control does not also pass through.

Mappings are grouped by target type and can be reordered within their group.

Response Curves

The Mouse to Stick dialog provides an editable 101-point response curve for each Hip/ADS profile. The editor keeps the curve monotonic so increasing input does not unexpectedly reduce output.

The Curve Generator can create a starting curve using:

  • Exponential
  • Angular
  • Linear

Adjust the generated curve only as much as the target game requires.

Helios Pulse Mouse to Stick

Map mouse Motion X and Motion Y to controller analog axes, then open Mouse to Stick from the tuning button on the Input mouse diagram. Enable dedicated mouse-to-stick translation to use the Helios Pulse settings.

Tune:

  • Pulse Continuum: raw one-report response or adaptive output spanning up to 2, 3, or 4 reports; the default is 2;
  • Mouse DPI: the physical mouse setting used while tuning;
  • Sensitivity: overall horizontal response;
  • Vertical Ratio: vertical sensitivity relative to horizontal;
  • the Hip response curve;
  • an optional ADS profile and activation control;
  • whether source motion is consumed.

Copy Hip to ADS gives the ADS profile the current Hip settings before you fine-tune it.

Start with the correct DPI, default Pulse Continuum, linear curve, and neutral vertical ratio. Adjust sensitivity first, then shape the curve.

Game Look Model

The optional Game Look Model maps requested movement to the stick values expected by a specific game. It provides 32 directions and 17 speed points, each with editable stick X and Y results.

Use Reset Identity for a neutral one-to-one starting model. Only customize the table when you have measured values for the target game.

Use the Profile

Step Action
1 Create or open the .ipt profile and make the desired mappings.
2 Open GPC 3 and select the intended slot.
3 Select or drag the .ipt profile onto that slot.
4 Start GPC 3 and verify the result in Device Monitor.

Troubleshooting

  • Profile will not open: use a .ipt file created by the current Input Translator.
  • Original input still passes through: enable source consumption on the mapping.
  • Helios Pulse is unavailable: map both mouse motion axes to controller analog axes.
  • Mouse response feels wrong: confirm the physical DPI, reset to a linear curve and identity look model, then retune sensitivity.
  • ADS never activates: verify the selected activation control and its state in Device Monitor.
