DS5 Input
DS5 Input reads PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers through Windows HID input. Supported DualSense Edge controls include the extra paddle inputs exposed by the device.
Controls
- Detected DualSense controller list and refresh
- Write to Controller Output for direct passthrough (visible only in Developer Mode)
- Live polling and input-rate status
Use
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Connect the controller and refresh the list. |
| 2 | Select the DualSense. |
| 3 | For direct passthrough, enable Developer Mode and Write to Controller Output. Leave it off when GPC 3 or another processor produces output. |
| 4 | Start DS5 Input and verify buttons, sticks, triggers, and any Edge paddles in Device Monitor. |
Helios restores the previously selected controller when it is available. Otherwise it selects the first detected controller; no controller is selected when the list is empty.
Troubleshooting
- Use USB for the most predictable connection and full device reporting.
- Close Steam Input or other controller software if the device is missing.
- After a disconnect, allow the panel to reconnect or refresh and select it again.
- If the controller works in Windows but not in Helios, unplug it, close competing software, and reconnect before refreshing.
