DS4 Input

DS4 Input reads supported PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controllers over USB or Bluetooth.

Controls

  • Detected DualShock 4 controller list and refresh
  • Polling rate: 125, 250, 500, or 1000 Hz
  • Write to Controller Output for direct passthrough (visible only in Developer Mode)
  • Live polling and input-rate status

Use

Step Action
1 Connect the controller and click refresh.
2 Select it and choose a polling rate.
3 For direct passthrough, enable Developer Mode and Write to Controller Output. Leave it off when GPC 3 or another processor produces output.
4 Start DS4 Input and verify activity in Device Monitor.

Start at 250 Hz. Increase it only when the controller and system remain stable.

Helios restores the previously selected controller when it is available. Otherwise it selects the first detected controller; no controller is selected when the list is empty.

Troubleshooting

  • Try USB if Bluetooth detection or latency is unreliable.
  • Close DS4Windows, Steam Input, and other apps that may claim or hide the controller.
  • Refresh and reselect after reconnecting.
  • If input is visible but direct output is not, enable Developer Mode and Write to Controller Output. For a processed workflow, confirm its processor is running instead.
